A five-day old infant died after a fire broke out at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital in Adilabad district of Telangana on Monday night at 11:50 pm.
Following the blaze, 28 children who were admitted to the ward were safely evacuated on time.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
